d&b audiotechnik unveils new integration possibilities at InfoComm Las Vegas
Visitors to the d&b booth at this year’s InfoComm, Las Vegas, got the first glimpse of a major new development in d&b audiotechnik system integration - the introduction of a dedicated software plug-in for QSC Q-SYS.
The detailed control interoperability enabled by this dedicated software module means the easy integration of d&b amplifiers as part of a Q-SYS DSP network system. Integrators can now provide Power on/off, Mute, Gain, Preset Recall and other amplifier controls from any Q-SYS control device and - vice versa - read extensive status information from the d&b loudspeaker system. For system designers this means the ability to achieve high performance d&b quality in installation applications requiring detailed, customized remote control features.
With full focus on system integration and networking, the d&b Workflow station gave visitors to the booth a chance to get hands on with the planning and control of a d&b system, using the ArrayCalc simulation software and R1 for remote control. The networked system featured the installation specific 10D and 30D amplifiers and the new DS10 Audio network bridge, the first d&b device to sit before the amplifiers in the signal chain. The DS10 features sixteen AES3 output channels via the Dante audio transport protocol through Ethernet, four AES3 input channels and an integrated 5port network switch
Daily sessions in the demo room were open to anyone looking to explore the d&b Workflow further. With all seats taken, the US Education and Application Support team guided listeners though an installation orientated setup, with a detailed look at the extended control and interoperability of systems enabled by the new DS10, and Q-SYS plug in. As well as detailing the extensive practical advantages of the workflow, the team offered an explanatory overview of the, now thirty five year old, d&b system concept.
“The interest at this year’s show really confirmed our growing position in the installation market,” commented Roger Keim, Marketing Manager for d&b US. “With the new Q-SYS plug-in the everyday handling of permanent d&b systems will be greatly enhanced, regardless of application, size or scale. It’s a significant development in our ongoing commitment to our installation customers and end users - to make exceptional quality sound as easy as possible for everyone involved.”
