Product workshop
Requirements
No previous experience with d&b products is necessary.
The goal
Participants are familiarized with the basics of acoustics, loudspeaker characteristics
and design. The E, T, and Q-Series product range as well as the D6 and D12 amplifiers
are introduced in theory and with listening sessions.
Content
Introduction
We start the day with an informal introduction that familiarizes you with the seminar
presenter's and attendee's professional background.

De-mystifying Audio
We take a brief look at various audio phenomena, the knowledge of
which lets everybody understand acoustics and the behavior of loudspeakers a little bit
better. We also familiarize ourselves with some basic principles of loudspeaker design and
what influence they have on the directivity and frequency response. This session does away
with complicated math and physics and lets the participants experience a variety of
phenomena through a number of acoustic experiments.

System Reality
Having learned about the inner workings of acoustics and loudspeakers in general, we now
take a closer look at the d&b approach to loudspeaker design, amplification and processing
electronics. Starting with a bit of company history, we explore d&b "System Reality" and
learn about why we do things the way we do.

Introduction to the E, T and Q-Series
A look at the features and intended applications of the three lines of loudspeakers,
their strengths and differences.

Hands-on listening session
Most of the afternoon is dedicated to actually setting up different systems out of the
three series. Everybody can experience how the boxes and amplifiers handle and, most
importantly, how they sound.
