M4 monitor

The M4 is a 2-way high performance stage monitor employing an integrated 15” LF and 1.3” exit horn loaded HF coaxial driver design that utilizes neodymium magnets. The constant directivity dispersion of 50° x 70° (h x v), which this unique horn provides, delivers an accurately defined coverage area on stage. The M4 can also be operated in 2-Way Active mode. When the cabinet is used in an upright position the M4 serves as a powerful PA loudspeaker with a 70° x 50° dispersion suitable for a variety of applications. For dedicated installation applications the dispersion characteristics of the M4 driver assembly can be rotated in 45° increments. The M4 cabinet is constructed from marine plywood, which incorporates the handles, has an impact resistant paint finish, M10 threaded inserts and a socket to accept loudspeaker stands. The front of the loudspeaker cabinet is protected by a rigid metal grill backed with an acoustically transparent foam. Two runners recessed in the bottom panel protect the cabinet from scratching and prevents movement.

The M4 monitor can be driven in passive mode, requiring one amplifier channel. Alternatively, for increased headroom, the M4 can be driven in 2-Way active mode, using two channels of the D20, D80, 10D or 30D amplifiers. The recommended amplifiers for the M4 are the d&b D20 and 30D. The d&b D6, D80 and 10D amplifiers can also drive the M4 with the appropriate loudspeaker configuration selected.

Architectural specifications

The 2-way, passive stage monitor shall consist of a integrated 15"/1.3" coaxial driver combination with a passive crossover, using a single magnet assembly, providing a conical 70° constant directivity HF dispersion.
2-way active operation shall also be applicable.

The cabinet shall be constructed from marine plywood with an impact resistant paint finish. The front of the loudspeaker cabinet shall be protected by a rigid metal grill in front of an acoustically transparent foam. Each side panel shall incorporate a handle while four M10 threaded inserts allow connection to different rigging devices and brackets. A pole mount shall be incorporated in one side panel to accept a loudspeaker stand. Two runners shall be recessed in the bottom panel to prevent cabinet movement and protect the bottom panel against scratching.

The cabinet shall be fitted with NLT4 F/M connectors. EP5 connectors shall be available upon request.

The loudspeaker shall only be operated by a dedicated, compatible controller amplifier.
The power handling capacity shall be 400 W RMS and 1600 W peak (10 ms). The frequency response (–5 dB) measured on axis shall be 55 Hz to 17 kHz with a maximum sound pressure of at least 138 when driven passively and 140 dB when driven actively.

The dimensions (W x H x D) shall not exceed 580 x 363 x 505 mm (22.83" x 14.30" x 19.88" ) and shall weigh no more than  kg ( lb).

The loudspeaker shall be the M4 by d&b audiotechnik GmbH.
