The B6-SUB is a high performance subwoofer designed for ground stacked applications, housing a long excursion 18” driver built into a bass-reflex design. When three or any multiple of three B6-SUBs are used, they can be positioned in a Cardioid Subwoofer Array with one cabinet physically facing backwards and driven by an amplifier channel with CSA mode selected. This achieves exceptional directivity control in lower frequencies and significantly reduces the energy radiating towards to the rear. The cabinet is constructed from marine plywood and has an impact and weather protected PCP (Polyurea Cabinet Protection) finish. The front of the loudspeaker cabinet is protected by a rigid metal grill backed by an acoustically transparent foam, whilst the side panels incorporate two handles. Four wheels are mounted to the rear and the enclosure features two runners to protect the bottom panel from scratching. Two correspondingly shaped recesses are incorporated into the top panel of each cabinet to accept these runners, preventing cabinet movement when stacked. An M20 threaded flange in the top panel accepts the d&b Loudspeaker stand winder M20. An optional transport lid protects the front of the subwoofer during transit.
The d&b audiotechnik loudspeaker range is designed exclusively for operation with d&b amplifiers. These provide power as well as comprehensive control and protection functions tailored to achieve the performance, reliability and longevity associated with the d&b System approach. The d&b D80 amplifier is recommended to drive the B6-SUB. The d&b D20, 10D, 30D and D6 amplifiers can also be used with the appropriate loudspeaker configuration selected.

The loudspeaker shall consist of a 18" long excursion low frequency driver with ferrite magnet in bass-reflex design.
The loudspeaker shall only be operated by a dedicated, compatible controller amplifier.
The cabinet enclosure shall be made from marine plywood with an impact and weather protected PCP (Polyurea Cabinet Protection) finish.
The driver shall be protected by a rigid metal grill backed by an acoustically transparent foam.
The cabinet shall incorporate one handle in each side panel and four transport wheels at the cabinet's rear. A M20 threaded insert shall be incorporated in the top panel to accept a loudspeaker stand.
Two runners shall be incorporated in the bottom panel to prevent the cabinet from movement and two corresponding recesses in the top panel shall be incorporated to prevent movement of stacked cabinets.
Two U-catches shall be integrated to accept an optional transport lid.
The connection panel on the back shall be recessed and fitted with speakon NLT4 F/M sockets (NL4 M or EP5 connectors as an option).
The power handling capacity shall be 500 W RMS and 2000 W peak (10 ms). The frequency response (–5 dB) measured on axis shall be 37 Hz to 140 Hz with a maximum sound pressure of at least 134 dB.
In addition a infra setup shall be provided with the upper operating frequency reduced down to 80 Hz to supplement full-range systems.
The dimensions (W x H x D) shall not exceed 580 x 490 x 805 mm (22.8" x 19.3" x 31.7") and shall weigh no more than 41 kg (90 lb).
The loudspeaker shall be the B6-SUB by d&b audiotechnik GmbH.
