The Bi6-SUB is a high performance subwoofer designed for ground stacked applications, housing a long excursion 18” driver built into a bass-reflex design. The Bi6-SUB is the installation version of the B6 subwoofer and differs only in cabinet construction, finish and mounting hardware. When three or any multiple of three B6-SUBs are used, they can be positioned in a Cardioid Subwoofer Array with one cabinet physically facing backwards and driven by an amplifier channel with CSA mode selected. This achieves exceptional directivity control in lower frequencies and significantly reduces the energy radiating towards to the rear. The cabinet is constructed from marine plywood and has an impact resistant paint finish, whilst Weather Resistant and Special Colour options are available. The front of the loudspeaker cabinet is protected by a rigid metal grill backed by an acoustically transparent foam.
The d&b audiotechnik loudspeaker range is designed exclusively for operation with d&b amplifiers. These provide power as well as comprehensive control and protection functions tailored to achieve the performance, reliability and longevity associated with the d&b System approach. The d&b 30D and D80 amplifiers are recommended to drive the Bi6-SUB. The d&b 10D, D20 and D6 amplifiers can also be used with the appropriate loudspeaker configuration selected.

The loudspeaker shall consist of a 18" long excursion low frequency driver with ferrite magnet in bass-reflex design.
The loudspeaker shall only be operated by a dedicated, compatible controller amplifier.
The cabinet enclosure shall be made from marine plywood with an impact resistant black paint finish.
Special colours according to RAL table and a weather resistant option shall be available upon request.
The drivers shall be protected by a rigid metal grill backed by an acoustically transparent foam.
Four rubber feet shall be incorporated in the bottom panel to prevent the cabinet from movement and four corresponding recesses in the top panel shall be incorporated to prevent movement of stacked cabinets.
The connection panel on the back shall be recessed and fitted with two speakon NL4 M sockets and a two pole screw terminal block. A cover plate for protection of the connection panel shall be included.
The power handling capacity shall be 500 W RMS and 2000 W peak (10 ms). The frequency response (–5 dB) measured on axis shall be 37 Hz to 140 Hz with a maximum sound pressure of at least 134 dB.
In addition a infra setup shall be provided with the upper operating frequency reduced down to 80 Hz to supplement full-range systems.
The dimensions (WxHxD) shall not exceed 580 x 490 x 700 mm (22.8" x 19.3" x 27.5") and shall weigh no more than 38 kg (84 lb).
The loudspeaker shall be the Bi6-SUB by d&b audiotechnik GmbH.
