The 2-way passive MAX2 loudspeaker houses a 15” LF driver and a coaxially mounted 1.4” HF compression driver and achieves 75° conical constant directivity dispersion. The driver arrangement uses a single magnet assembly, allowing for a compact cabinet design with a low profile for strict visual demands.
The MAX2 provides a broad variety of deployment possibilities, whether used individually as a stage monitor; as a stand-alone full range system or, when combined with d&b subwoofers, as a drumfill.
The loudspeaker cabinet is constructed in marine plywood with an impact resistant paint finish. Four M10 threaded inserts allow connection to a flying bracket. The cabinet incorporates a pair of recessed grips for handling, while the front is protected by a rigid metal grill backed with an acoustically transparent foam. A pole mount is incorporated into one of the side panels. Two runners recessed in the bottom panel protect the cabinet from scratching and prevents movement.
The recommended amplifiers for the MAX2 are the D20 and 30D. Alternatively, the MAX2 can be driven with using the MAX2 configuration within the D6, D80 or 10D amplifiers. The MAX2 may also be driven with any high quality linear power amplifier with an output not exceeding 800 Watts into 8 ohms and with an additional 25 Hz, 12 dB/octave subsonic filter.

The 2-way, passive stage monitor shall consist of an integrated 15"/1.4" coaxial driver combination with a passive crossover, using a single magnet assembly, providing a conical 75° constant directivity HF dispersion.
The cabinet shall be constructed from marine plywood with an impact resistant paint finish. The front of the loudspeaker cabinet shall be protected by a rigid metal grill in front of an acoustically transparent foam. Each side panel shall incorporate a handle while four M10 threaded inserts shall allow connection to different rigging devices and brackets. A pole mount shall be incorporated in one side panel to accept a loudspeaker stand. Two runners shall be recessed in the bottom panel to prevent cabinet movement and protect the bottom panel against scratching.
The cabinet shall be fitted with NLT4 F/M connectors. NL4 or EP5 connectors shall be available upon request.
The loudspeaker shall only be operated by a dedicated, compatible controller amplifier.
The power handling capacity shall be 250 W RMS and 1600 W peak (10 ms). The frequency response (–5 dB) measured on axis shall be 55 Hz to 20 kHz with a maximum sound pressure of at least 135 dB.
The dimensions (W x H x D) shall not exceed 580 x 354 x 496 mm (22.8" x 14" x 19.5") and shall weigh no more than 23 kg (50 lb).
The loudspeaker shall be the MAX2 by d&b audiotechnik GmbH.
