B4-SUB Architectural specifications The loudspeaker shall be an actively driven compact high performance cardioid subwoofer. It shall consist of two long excursion neodymium drivers in an integrated cardioid setup: a 15" driver in a bass-reflex design shall facing to the front and a 12" driver in a 2-chamber bandpass design shall radiating to the rear. The arrangement and tuning shall provide a cardioid dispersion pattern using a single amplifier channel. The loudspeaker shall only be operated by a dedicated, compatible controller amplifier. The cabinet enclosure shall be made from marine plywood with an impact resistant paint finish. The driver shall be protected by a rigid metal grill backed by an acoustically transparent foam. The cabinet shall incorporate one handle in each side panel and four transport wheels at the cabinet's rear. A M20 threaded insert shall be incorporated in the top panel to accept a loudspeaker stand. Two runners shall be incorporated in the bottom panel to prevent the cabinet from movement and two corresponding recesses in the top panel shall be incorporated to prevent movement of stacked cabinets. Two U-catches shall be integrated to accept an optional transport lid. The connection panel on the back shall be recessed and fitted with speakon NLT4 F/M sockets (NL4 M or EP5 connectors as an option). The power handling capacity shall be 500 W RMS and 2000 W peak (10 ms). The frequency response (–5 dB) measured on axis shall be 40 Hz to 150 Hz with a maximum sound pressure of at least 131 dB. The dimensions (W x H x D) shall not exceed 580 x 476 x 800 mm (22.84" x 18.74" x 31.61") and shall weigh no more than 44 kg (97 lb).
