Register for the d&b Workflow workshop. Integration.
No. IWW-USA-00600-019
Requirements
Integration focus: Intended for consultants, system planners and integrators, and installers of fixed d&b systems. This workshop will focus on the planning, deployment, and integration of fixed d&b sound systems.
Due to high demand, registration does not guarantee a seat in the workshop. Please wait for a d&b team member to confirm prior to making any travel plans.
- No previous experience with d&b products is necessary.
- Participants should be familiar with setting up sound systems and want to develop their knowledge of d&b systems.
- A computer running Windows 7 or higher / OS X 10.7 or higher.
- Wired ethernet jack or equivalent dongle/adaptor.
Conditions
This workshop has an integration focus and is intended for consultants, system planners and integrators, and installers of fixed d&b systems.
The Goal
Participants will become familiar and comfortable with the design, deployment and operation of a d&b sound system. This workshop will focus on the planning, deployment, and operation of installation systems. Listening is used in this workshop to support discussed theory and to familiarize attendees with d&b loudspeakers and amplifier functions: so get ready to do your best crossed arm listening pose. Participants are introduced to the ArrayCalc system simulation software and R1 Remote control software for designing, configuring, and controlling d&b sound systems. Participants will also be introduced to methods of controlling d&b sound systems with third-party controllers, as well as d&b audiotechnik‘s custom solutions.
Content
- Introduction: This is pretty self-explanatory, isn’t it?
- System Reality & product range: “Why does d&b require the use of their amplifiers for their loudspeakers?” A short history of the company, as well as a look at the holistic approach to loudspeaker design, amplification and processing electronics. Session will include a look at the xS, xA, and xC-Series of loudspeakers and discuss the installation variants of mobile loudspeakers. Rigging and deployment options as well as how to choose a loudspeaker will be discussed.
- Custom Solutions: For projects that have special deployment needs where a standard rigging solution is not the best choice:A discussion on the custom solutions that d&b provides for rigging, weatherization, and custom color.
- Amplifiers: This class focuses on current amplifiers, and choosing efficient loudspeaker/amplifier combinations. Focus will be payed to fixed installation sound system tools including: Input Monitoring, redundant signal input paths, supervised connections to loudspeakers and much more. All loudspeaker specific filter sets and their uses will be discussed, as well as third-party remote control capabilities.
- ArrayCalc system simulation software: Participants will learn how to best utilize the software and prediction data and integrate it into their current workflow. Participants will focus on how to utilize ArrayCalc to speed up the planning process in conjunction with their current design process. Users familiar with ArrayCalc will be treated to tips and tricks that are only given at a d&b workshop.
- d&b ArrayProcessing Introduction: Participants are introduced to simulation and calculation processes in ArrayCalc as well as to the transfer of the resulting ArrayProcessing settings using the R1 Remote control software.
- Networking and Integration: An overview of how TCP/IP networking functions, as well as how it relates to the d&b amplifier network. Ethernet remote networks will be covered, including requirements for networking a reliable system; additionally specific integration functions such as how to control amplifiers via the built-in GPIO system and control from third-party media control systems. Students will have opportunities to connect and control d&b amplifier and loudspeaker.
- R1 Remote control software: An opportunity to build an R1 interface, as well as utilizing ArrayCalc to generate a prebuilt interface. Students will focus on how to best utilize R1 for configuring their sound system as well as how they can configure an R1 project for easy operation by the end user.
