8S loudspeaker

The 8S is a full range, 2-way loudspeaker in a bass-reflex enclosure, utilizing an 8"/1" coaxial driver combination with a passive crossover. The coaxial design offers a symmetrical dispersion pattern in the horizontal and vertical plane while the cabinet may be mounted in either attitude. With its frequency response from 70 Hz to 20 kHz the 8S can be used as a full range system and also be supplemented by subwoofers from the xS-Series. The enclosure is constructed from marine plywood with an impact resistant black or white paint finish. The front of the loudspeaker cabinet is protected by a rigid metal grill backed by an acoustically transparent foam and the top and bottom panels incorporate an M8 threaded insert. The rear panel incorporates two M8 threaded inserts, two NL4 connectors and a two pole screw terminal block. The loudspeaker cabinets and most accessories are also available with the Special Colour (SC) option that can be executed in all RAL colours, whilst the Weather Resistant (WR) option provides an IP34 rating, and enables operation of loudspeakers in changing ambient conditions.

Amplifiers

The 8S can be driven either by the d&b D6 or D12 dual channel power amplifiers configured for the 8S. More detailed information on specific loudspeaker setups with d&b amplifiers is available either in the relevant loudspeaker or amplifier manuals.
