Project Support Specialist

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative, and organized Project Support Specialist to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Project Support department at d&b audiotechnik Corporation. This is a remote position, with travel to project sites, trade shows, and other events/locations as needed. This individual will report to the Project Support Manager and assist the Business Development, Sales, and Education/Application Support (EAS) departments with system design support, project management, and related documentation. The support of d&b dealers and key end-users, consultants, and architects is also a key element of the position. They will provide technical input regarding new or retrofit systems and suggest design and technical alternatives to realize project objectives. 
 
Essential functions and work duties: 
  • Supports the design and engineering of complete systems, custom solutions hardware, and other system/architectural engineering details, including the interface with related systems and structures.
  • Convert SketchUp, Vectorworks, CAD drawings, Revit, and other drawing formats to d&b ArrayCalc venues for use in system designs.
  • Provides Vectorworks, 3D CAD, Revit drawings, specifications, and technical details used for fabrication of custom solutions and installation of d&b systems.
  • Assists with project management support and documentation.
  • Assists with change orders and other project and system revisions.
  • Coordinates with appropriate departments to ensure professional and collaborative workflow and support.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially when working with diverse or international groups.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Superior customer service skills when interacting with both internal and external customers.
  • Background in audio technologies and systems, acoustics, architectural engineering, and project management.
  • Experience with audio, acoustics, BIM, and architectural engineering design software platforms such as EASE, SketchUp, Vectorworks, AutoCAD, Revit, etc.
  • Understanding of how to read and interpret specifications, drawings and plans, change orders, bid documents, etc.
  • Must maintain a general knowledge of A/V systems so as to support in a well-informed manner engineering and project management that meet customer requirements.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, required.
Education and Experience:
  • Degree in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Audio Engineering, Music Technology, or related field Preferred.
  • Avixa CTS/CTS-D certification preferred.
  • Dante level 1 certification required.  Dante level 2 & 3 preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in A/V engineering.
  • Valid and current drivers license.
Physical Requirements:
  • Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers, and eyesight to read detailed documents and drawings.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Adequate hearing for normal conversations, internet meetings, and audio systems.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, Exempt position. Occasional evening and weekend work as well as domestic and international travel may be required as job duties demand.
