Technical Operations Specialist
Position Summary:
d&b audiotechnik Corporation is seeking a Technical Operations Specialist for the Education, Application, and Support (EAS) team. This would be an Asheville-based position focused on the internal operational and technical oversight of d&b’s US-based venues, demo stock, and workshop assets. This person would be the primary individual responsible for technical operation/system testing and for the organizational upkeep and professional presentation of any equipment moving in or out of the d&b facility for Sales/Support related activities.

This would be an Asheville-based position focused on the internal operational and technical oversight of d&b’s US-based venues, demo stock, and workshop assets. This person would be the primary individual responsible for technical operation/system testing and for the organizational upkeep and professional presentation of any equipment moving in or out of the d&b facility for Sales/Support related activities.
Essential functions and work duties:
- Oversee and maintain the Asheville and Signal Hill systems at the d&b venue
- Provide basic technical direction regarding the readiness of the d&b venue for client’s visit, workshops, or demonstrations.
- Set up and operate portable venue systems as required
- Assist with setup, technical support, and administration of trade shows, exhibitions, and other industry-related events.
- Assist Support team with set up of event-specific technical requirements
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and reporting to resolve support inquiries.
- Participate in continuing education of d&b system troubleshooting and technical support
- Maintain a professional, clean, safe and orderly environment in the EAS warehouse and venue
- Prepare and check outgoing equipment packages for demos, workshops, and exhibitions, including preparation of shipment paperwork with the logistics team.
- Ensure complete return and check-in of equipment packages, maintaining gear in fully functioning, presentable, “show-ready” condition.
- Assist in developing best packaging and mobile solutions for d&b equipment
- Coordinate sub-rental equipment logistics, including administration, handling, and scheduling.
- Oversee equipment inventory, create/maintain storage systems and inventory lists, and report to the accounting department.
Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with professional audio, video, lighting and control systems
- Outstanding organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines at once
- Strong communication skills
- Self-starter
- Strong troubleshooting skills on A.V.L. systems
- Basic technical understanding of d&b audiotechnik systems
- Ability to work as part of an event or technical team
- Experience with ERP and inventory management systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, strong ability to use critical thinking to come up with creative solutions.
- Ability to handle thousands of dollars of equipment with care, taking proper precautions to ensure equipment remains undamaged and protected from theft or loss.
- Safety-first mentality.
- Ability to work at heights up to 20’ (via ladder or lift)
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to work in-office full-time.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, including overnight stays
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the professional audio industry in a customer-facing technical position.
- Minimum 2 years audio rental/production company warehouse experience
- Proven understanding and applicable knowledge of professional loudspeaker systems
- In-depth knowledge in the application of console technologies, control systems and audio design tools
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, Exempt position. Occasional evening and weekend work as well as national and international travel may be required as job duties demand.
