d&b audiotechnik showcased its latest innovations at this year’s PLASA Focus Leeds exhibition from 1 to 2 May. With a focus on recent advances in integration and interoperability, the d&b team was on hand to discuss new audio technology solutions, third-party control integrations and the d&b Soundscape.
“PLASA Focus is always a great opportunity to see our customers in the north of the country, discuss our latest developments and how they relate to their own projects,” says Gianni Abruzzese, d&b GB General Manager. “And with our latest third-party integrations and, of course, Soundscape, we have some really compelling new technology to talk about with them.”
On day one of the show Oran Burns, d&b Education Application Support, presented a seminar called 'Are you listening?', which was well received. The session focused on the much-debated subject of the ideal frequency response for a live sound system, considering factors like hearing sensitivity, creative preferences, room acoustics and cultural trends.
As ever, d&b also took an active role in popular PLASA Focus education and training programme. Steve Jones, d&b Education Application Support, joined the panel of experts discussing perhaps the hottest talking point in live sound - object-based spatial audio. Jones shared insights into the d&b Soundscape and its relevance to future live sound reinforcement environments. Titled ‘Spatial Brew’, the seminar session took place in the Bury Theatre on Tuesday 1 May, chaired by leading pro audio journalist, Phil Ward.
