An augmented array.
A new tool that combines the ease of point source clusters with the level and frequency distribution of line arrays, delivering signature d&b sonic quality in an augmented format. One that delivers exponentially more flexibility in both physical setup and acoustic control.
The A-Series combines the best elements of existing d&b system technology to create an entirely new loudspeaker concept. Bending the rules of what a sound system can do, while maintaining the familiar d&b focus on directivity and system unity.
In short, the A-Series is a unification of technologies that sits comfortably in the gap once filled with compromises. This approach to sound reinforcement comes from a different angle.
Arrays of up to four A-Series loudspeakers adapt precisely to venue shapes in fine increments using variable splay angles. Broad distribution is achieved either horizontally or vertically with a minimal number of loudspeakers. Coherent high frequency dispersion is maintained through sophisticated waveguide design, any way it's splayed.
In keeping with the spirit of new concepts, the A-Series includes a new acoustic refinement approach: Midrange Directivity Control.
This function uses fewer amplifier channels than ArrayProcessing, while keeping midrange directivity symmetrical at every possible splay angle. Simply designate each loudspeaker within an augmented array as either an ‘In’ for inner cabinets, or ‘Out’ for outer cabinets. Midrange Directivity Control ensures that the critical vocal range is crystal clear. A simple click and it’s set.
The A-Series provides the exact coverage required. Variable splay angles between adjacent cabinets can be set in the range from 20° to 40° in 5° increments. Whether the coverage is narrow or broad, arrays are horizontal or vertical: sound is directed only to where it should be and no further.
