Everything about your application.

Every great piece of music begins with a strong intro. The same goes for your application – it sets the tone for our exchange. To help you understand what to expect at d&b, we’ll guide you through our application process and what we value most. Here, you’ll find answers to frequently asked questions as well as tips to help you prepare.

What matters to us? Not volume, but a harmonious combination of motivation, shared goals, and your personality.

Show who you are. Well prepared, and completely yourself.

Great sound is created through collaboration. That’s why we’re not looking for lone performers, but for team players who enrich our crew – with strong skills and their unique personality.

Come As You Are

The music scene is diverse – and so is d&b. At our company, people with a wide range of backgrounds, life paths, and experiences work together. It’s precisely these perspectives that make our collaboration strong: they challenge assumptions, bring in new ideas, and help us move forward together.

That’s why there’s no dress code for interviews either – come as you feel comfortable: authentic and true to yourself. Only then can we find out if we truly are a great match.

Learn to Fly

To make sure we’re in sync from the very start, take some time to learn about our company beforehand. You don’t need to be able to list line arrays or subwoofers – but having a general understanding of who we are and what we stand for is important. From our history to our role in the professional audio industry, you can find everything you need to know at www.dbaudio.com.

Break the Rules

Rigid corporate structures and traditional hierarchies? Not our style. From working students to senior leaders, great ideas don’t have to be loud to be heard here. We work at eye level – because the best solutions come from diverse perspectives. For you, this means: challenge the status quo, think things through with us, and get involved. There are no “right” answers – only your own, especially in an interview.

Don’t Stop Me Now

You don’t have to know everything from day one – what matters most is your motivation and your passion for your field. We give you the space to explore your ideas and value people who bring fresh perspectives and want to grow together. Tell us what drives you: what topic makes you turn up the volume and keeps you going?

Your questions, clearly answered.

How and where do I apply?

The easiest way is via our online job portal – your application will be routed directly to the right contacts, and we will get back to you promptly.

What documents do you need from me?

We look forward to receiving your complete application, including your CV and relevant certificates – for example, your final school or university certificate as well as references from previous employers.

If a cover letter is required, we will let you know or include this information in the job posting.

Applying proactively? Then tell us in your cover letter why you would like to work at d&b, what experience and strengths you bring, and where you would like to apply your knowledge.

One large file or separate documents?

Both options are fine. Please ensure that each file does not exceed 5 MB. We recommend uploading your documents in PDF format.

Will I receive a confirmation of receipt?

Yes. As soon as your application reaches us, you will automatically receive a confirmation so you can be sure your documents have been received.

When can I expect an initial response?

We won’t keep you waiting long. As a rule, you’ll receive an initial, well-founded response within two weeks – possibly already including an invitation to get to know each other.

How does the interview process look like?

Depending on the position, we will meet via video call, by phone, or in person. You will speak with colleagues from the relevant department and/or Talent Acquisition and gain initial insights into the team and role.

After a successful initial interview, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your skills in practice:

  • Production & Logistics: A trial day in your future department
  • Expert roles: A business case, presentation of past projects, or a practical role-play
  • Leadership roles: A multi-stage process including project presentations, business cases, and role-play exercises

How does a video interview work?

It’s simple: you will receive a link via email that allows you to join the video call directly in your browser. No account or special software is required.

Please make sure your microphone and camera are working. A computer or laptop is recommended for optimal audio and video quality. Smartphones can also be used, but quality may be more limited.

What is the d&b dress code?

At d&b, we value diversity. Come as you feel comfortable – while considering your role and the occasion. For example: comfortable clothing when setting up events, more formal attire for customer presentations.

For interviews, we recommend smart casual: polished, professional, and authentically you.

What is the d&b company culture like?

Our daily work and interactions are shaped by three core values: passion, quality, and a strong sense of togetherness.

Passion is the starting point of everything we do. Great sound moves people – immediately and deeply. This enthusiasm drives us to stay curious, courageous, and ready to take responsibility. We bring diverse perspectives, step up when it matters most, and go the extra mile for our customers.

Quality means excellence in every detail – from the first idea to the final soundcheck. We think ahead, work with precision, define standards, and consistently uphold them. Customer feedback inspires us to continuously improve and remain curious.

Wir-Gefühl (Togetherness) means every voice counts. We interact with trust and mutual respect – from working students to senior leaders. We collaborate across departments, learn from each other, and find solutions together without micromanagement. We celebrate successes as a team and create space for exchange – whether in projects, offsites, or sports events.

What does onboarding look like?

A sense of togetherness develops through collaboration, not at the push of a button. That’s why, from day one, you’ll have a dedicated contact person to support you with questions, feedback, and guidance.

Apprentices and students are supported by a dedicated mentor throughout their entire time with us. Of course, your team, manager, HR department, and employee representatives are also always available to you.

To help you get started quickly, you’ll complete targeted training sessions in your first weeks – from IT to occupational safety. Your department will also provide resources such as technical materials, manuals, and presentations to support your onboarding. And of course, a sound demo is part of the experience, so you can hear what our systems can do.

During your first days, we’ll take care of all organizational matters: you’ll receive your employee ID and key card, set up your workspace, and have full support from IT whenever needed.

After three and six months, your manager will take the time for structured feedback discussions. And throughout your journey, your contacts remain available at any time for support.

Do you offer employee benefits?

Yes – our employees benefit from a range of meaningful advantages that make a real difference in everyday life.

Financial benefits

We support you with an employer-financed pension plan and additional contributions if you choose private arrangements. Through our profit-sharing program, you participate directly in company performance.

You benefit from subsidized meals in our canteen and receive support for your Germany ticket. After your probation period, you can lease a bike through d&b, and depending on your role, a company car may also be available.

Through our corporate benefits platform, you’ll also enjoy attractive discounts.

Flexibility

Where your role allows, you’ll benefit from flexible working hours and the option to work remotely by arrangement with your manager.

All employees receive 30 days of vacation per year. Parents benefit from additional child sick days with full pay – a meaningful advantage for families.

Health support

In case of illness, you are well protected: we offer extended paid sick leave of up to six months.

Learning and development

With our Education Learning Factory (ELF), you gain access to a digital learning environment where you can develop new skills and methods tailored to your role and career progression.

Knowledge that lasts – and grows with you.
