My biggest concern was ensuring we could scale the system, the LA venue and San Francisco venue were totally opposite, we were coming from a theatre to an arena in a short period of time. A few years back, I created a NoizCalc file for The Other Stage area, because it is notorious for offsite noise issues, but the file reinforced what we already knew – that the biggest challenge at this site is weather variations and wind. The KSL System is remarkably stable, even in the strongest winds and I imagine this has a lot to do with the full range pattern control coming from the arrays. This means that even if the direct sound is blown off course, the indirect sound is so tonally constant and controlled that there is little perceivable difference within the listening area.

This was the first major event running a large d&b system from a battery, instead of the conventional fossil fuel generator. This proved to be a great success, with no effect on power draw and still allowing the system to run without any issues.
