TriTec AV provides d&b XSL debut for Jordan’s 80th Independence Day Celebration.
Amman, Jordan — 25 May 2026 — Event technology specialist TriTec AV proudly marked a major milestone in Jordan’s live event production industry by deploying the d&b audiotechnik XSL-Series for the first time in the Kingdom during the official celebration of Jordan’s 80th Independence Day in the grounds of Al Husseiniya Palace.
The Royal Standard
Featuring live orchestral music, choir performances, playback video elements, and a keynote address by His Majesty King Abdullah II, the production needed a sound system capable of delivering exceptional speech intelligibility, musical clarity, consistent audience coverage and high gain-before-feedback – all in a demanding live broadcast environment.
TriTec AV deployed a left/right main system of d&b XSL hangs, with 10 XSL8 per side, supported by four flown XSL-SUBs behind each main array. XSL12 cabinets were used as front fills for the front-row and centre audience areas.
For the address by His Majesty King Abdullah II, the XSL-Series provided outstanding vocal definition and intelligibility, while maintaining the power and refinement required for an event of this scale.
Cardioid: Clear and Clean
XSL’s cardioid performance was a key advantage, significantly reducing sound energy on stage, where controlling unwanted sound spill into open microphones was essential. The XSL system helped maintain a cleaner mix, improved microphone stability and greater clarity across the ceremony’s musical and spoken-word elements. d&b ArrayProcessing was used to ensure consistent sound distribution, tonal balance, high-frequency coverage and headroom across the entire audience space.
The main system was complemented with d&b T-Series loudspeakers in line array format as side fills. Six d&b M2 monitor loudspeakers were also deployed across the stage to assist solo singers and centre-stage dancers. The system was powered by d&b D80 amplifiers, with signal distribution via Dante. The system design and operation was carried out by engineer Najib AlBakhit.
A Prestigious Performance
“This was a proud moment for TriTec AV and for the Jordanian production industry,” said Marwan R Abujaber, CEO & Owner at TriTec AV. “Introducing the d&b XSL-Series to Jordan at such an important national event allowed us to demonstrate the system’s power, clarity, and control in a truly meaningful setting. The cardioid performance made a major difference on stage, especially with the orchestra and choir, while the system delivered the speech intelligibility and musical quality required for an event of this importance.”
Brad Maiden, General Manager for d&b Middle East, says, “It’s great to see TriTec AV putting their new XSL system to such a prestigious first use. TriTec AV has been a valued partner of ours for many years: their passion for audio is as infectious as our own. We’re delighted to see them expand their inventory and we look forward to them delivering many more events such as this.”
